Engrane will be priced by usage. The model is not settled, so treat this page as the shape of the decision, not as an offer.

What is decided

You will pay for what you use. Not for how many people sit on an account, and not a flat fee that assumes everyone uses the same amount. Someone who uses Engrane heavily and someone who opens it now and then should each pay for their own share of the work.

What a usage is

Engrane's work comes in two shapes. It generates material: a topic or a link becomes an essay you can read, in sections, with the recall questions built in. And it expands material: a section you want to go deeper on grows, using the same sources and the same subject. Those two actions are the work Engrane does for you, so they are what usage will mean. Generating and expanding are the words to hold on to; the unit is still open.

What is not decided

Three things are open: what a unit of that work is counted in, what a unit will be worth, and whether anything is included before a charge starts. None of the three is written here, so there is no price table on this page and no figure on it either. That is a decision that has not been made, not a page that is unfinished.

Nothing is charged today

Engrane does not take payment. There is no checkout and no plan to choose anywhere in the product. Payment is a separate question, and payments is honest about how little is settled there too.

How to be told

The one route is the invitation form on the homepage: leave an address and you will be told when pricing is published. That is the only list, and it is not a newsletter. If the shape described above turns out to be wrong before anything is charged, this page changes first.
